Sunday - 2/19/17.

Most of us have been home for about 12 hours now.  Yesterday was a long day traveling with many, many different legs of our journey.  Hopefully Alisha and Sarah are also back - their flight was delayed out of Belize City.

Saturday many of the children and adults came to the church to say thank you and see us off:

Thomas and his new bike.

Pure joy - a bed and sheets!

As we go through our busy days there are many things to be thankful for:
Food & Water
Clothing & Shoes
Shelter that doesn't leak
Running Water/Electricity
Health care
Bathrooms
Transportation
Education

And many things to be thankful we don't have:
Sun Flies (No See-Um's on steroids!)
Belize potholes (they make MN potholes look like nothing!)
Heat & Humidity - (temperatures in the upper 80's with extreme humidity - every day!)

For those of us that made the trip, today is a day to rest and reflect on our experiences.  We have touched many lives and they have touched ours.  Please continue to pray for the people of Belize and all the people that need our prayers.

I will continue to post pictures as other travelers send them to me.  Thank you for following us.

2/17/17 - Friday.

Some of the pictures from Thursday afternoon.  Blessing of two of the sites we worked on:

Ingrid's
Candy's, Community Shelter & bridge.

We left for Caye Caulker on the 4:30 p.m. water taxi.

We will be heading home tomorrow.  Water taxi, taxi to church, taxi to airport, 2 flights.  Home sweet home.  The experience is overwhelming.  We appreciate all the prayers from everyone.  Please continue to pray that ALL of us will get home safely tomorrow night.

I will continue to post photos from other volunteers as they send them to me.

We will be giving presentations at
Mass about our trip in the near future.  Please watch the bulletin for specific times.

Correction:

2/16/17 - Some of the Faces of Belize.

2/16/17 Late Morning.

Things are winding down but still plenty busy.  The fence has functioning gates.  The Sister's drain is better.  Ingrid's, Eva's, and Candy's are completed and will be blessed by Fr Scott later this afternoon.
Cealina's roof was a challenge this morning but we worked through it (no screws).  Many of us are busy delivering donated clothing, shoes, toys.
Cealina's place - putting on new roof 'zinc'.

The Electrical Grid by Cealina's.
Once we got the correct screws - we were in business.

Jonah and Jason working the rooftop/Cliff and Marty moving sheets up.

Maple River made it to Belize.

Candy & George.  She was overwhelmed with gratitude.

Fish out of the Canal.

Bathrooms on the back of the Church Classrooms.

Nice looking fence.
